When I first listened to this album, it was as a Free/BadCompany fan who was desperate to get his hands on anything associated. As such, I found this rather disappointing, as it lacked the cohesion associated with these related recordings.

However, as time has passed - (is it really 25 years?), I find that this is the album I reach for out of the whole back-catalogue. I jam along to Tuesday morning, and melt every time I hear that definitive guitar solo in Molten Gold.

It is this standing the test of time that leads me to award this album its maximum stars.

I bought this in vinyl form when it first came out and still play it.Listening to Time Away & Molten Gold plays on my emotions every time. Nothing beats it. Koss is still my hero and will never be forgotten.It is so sad listening to Free play on Molten Gold, you can't help thinking what could have been.Still,I was lucky enough to see Free several times and Back Street Crawler and memories never fade.Keep Rockin' Koss.

Paul Kossoff was a blossom who had only just begun to bloom. He had soul and restraint, which will always put him in the league of the greatest guitarists. "Time Away" is the most emotional electric guitar piece I have ever heard. For over 25 years it remains the most heartfelt piece of music to me.The sadness and sincerity of this album is sometimes overwhelming when one has learnt of the final years of Paul's tender life.
