Handy guide 7 Oct 2010
I used this book during a stay in Galway, and i was able to use information from 3 of the tours suggested in the book. It was a very helpful guide to the highlights of the area, and i used it much more than my other guide books to plan our days out. Note the tour times presume you visit each place on the tour and perhaps stay several hours, so they make the journeys seem much longer than they really are. We did the whole Connemara tour easily in one day, but of cousre did not stop off at every location suggested. Beautiful photos included, which help to inspire you... some spots visited even looked like their photo when the sun finally came out! Gurteen Bay and Dogs Bay south of Roundstone were highlights of our trip, and only mentioned in this book out of all my travel books. Food recommendations were also good too (O'Gradys on the Pier in Barna is a must as the sun sets).

Touring Ireland 7 Oct 2011

An excellent guide for anyone travelling round Ireland, whether it's your first time or you're a frequent visitor. It has all those little "out-of-the-way" places that more general guides often fail to mention. A handy format and robust enough to be carried in a jacket pocket. Thoroughly recommended!

This book has great guides to the back roads and stop offs, but better for the south than the north of ireland - maybe that's just what the country is like though! I'm from Northern Ireland but not lived there for a long time, thought there would be more to see/do in the north!
