What can I say, people like Old Skool rap. The flooding of old skool compilations on the market and the retro fashion shows the revived intrest. This album is good, in fact it's very good. It is crammed with classics from the Sugar Hill Gang, Run D, and the legendary Grandmaster Flash.
This is an album that I can put on and not have to worry about skimming for a few good songs because thay are all good. Songs like Jump Around and Ain't Nuthin But A G thang are prime examples of this CDs superiority over other weak Old Skool compilations.
As a fan of hip-hop I would never in my life have ever considered purchasing a CD from The Ministry of Sound, but I am very impressed in what they have pulled together. Could this be a sign of things to come? Perhaps a modern rap compilation?
My only criticism is that there were no songs from the like of LL Cool J, EPMD and Public Enemy who in my oppinion all deserve to be heard out. Great Cd though- BUY IT!
