Book Description

Reacher left the villains alive in Bad Luck and Trouble. Now old enemies seek vengeance in this USA Today Bestseller

Lee Child Gives Diane Capri Two Thumbs Up!
"Full of thrills and tension, but smart and human, too. Kim Otto is a great, great character - I love her." Lee Child, #1 World Wide Bestselling Author of Jack Reacher Thrillers

When Jack Reacher Makes Mistakes, Who Handles The Fall-Out?

FBI Special Agents Kim Otto and Carlos Gaspar’s off-the-books assignment leads them to the surviving members of Jack Reacher’s elite military unit. Five years ago, Reacher sorted and destroyed a team of arms dealers in Lee Child’s Bad Luck & Trouble before he moved on. But he made mistakes. Now, his bad luck and trouble legacy plunges Otto and Gaspar into the minefield of a grudge war between Reacher’s fearless old friends and chilling new enemies.

When his enemies take women and children hostage for ransom, Kim’s relentless pursuit leads her deeper into the deadly war Reacher failed to finish. Mercenaries and Kim’s unwavering heart push her through — until she meets the wrong woman with nothing to lose.

    5.0 out of 5 stars Gripping 12 Sept. 2013
    Format:Kindle Edition
The latest and long awaited sequel in THE HUNT FOR JACK REACHER series. The book opens with a murder and it took me a few moments to put this in perspective however, Diane resets the chronology for the reader and reminds us where we are up to in Otto and Gaspars's hunt for Reacher. A few red herrings and a few clues along the way to suggest where the book is going.
Had difficulty putting it down, just as with Lee Child's book.
As with Lee Child's book I am now waiting for the next one by Diane.
    Highly reccommended

4.0 out of 5 stars Not bad. 20 Nov. 2013
    Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
It's (indirectly) about Jack Reacher so it's interesting.
Dianne Capri's writing is not as good as Lee Child's though - maybe because she writes in American whilst he writes in English.
I'll read her other "Hunt for ..." books but not her other stuff.

It's an OK read but only an OK read. These "Piggy back" on Reacher stories and offer a counter view of our well defined hero. I thought the idea was good as Reacher treads a fine line between the right and the legal but the books felt forced and padded. I tried a couple and now will wait for the next real Reacher book.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nicely developing characters. 2 Nov. 2013

Having read "Don't know Jack" Diane Capri has given us another run out with Kim Otto, cleverly interweaving her own developing character with characters we meet from Lee Child's earlier Reacher adventures. This book will appeal to any "Reacher" fan but also is a good stand alone read.

1.0 out of 5 stars Cynical exploitation 5 Dec. 2013
    Format:Kindle Edition
Cynical exploitation of someone else's success - I'm surprised Lee Child lets her get away with it. Why would we want someone else to weave the Reacher stories?

    3.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed 23 Jan. 2015
    Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I bought this book with an open mind, wondering how it would relate to Jack Reacher. Now having read it I believe it would have been better without the Jack Reacher connection! I realise this would defeat the object of this series but nevertheless I found it distracting rather than interesting to have constant reminders of Jack knowing full well we would never 'see' him.

It is not often I don't write a good review but unfortunately this time this is the best I can do.

    5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent 15 Jan. 2015
    Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Easy to read as an individual novel, even though it's part of a series of book's.
If you enjoy Lee Child's Jack Reacher book's, you will, like I did, enjoy this twice as much, understanding who 'Jack' is, and the other side to the story.
Ingeniously done. I am Diane Capri's latest fan, but certainly not her last!
