Format: Audio CD
Compared to Shapershifters' previous offering "Lola's Theme", "Back To Basics" is pretty unremarkable. Of course, it is still good enough to make you want to get up and dance - or at the very least stamp your feet - but it does not have the same edge to it that "Lola's Theme" had last year. This has been proven by the way the commercial single release has dropped down the charts with alarming ease since its release in February, 2005. "Back To Basics" is good, especially with its omnipresent strings in the background, but Shapeshifters will always be hampered with comparisons to their 2004 uber-smash hit "Lola's Theme", which is a shame for them.
