For anyone who has enjoyed watching Anna's programmes on the Food Channel, I would thoroughly recommend this book, if you can (like me) eventually buy it at a reasonable price. The recipes are great and, importantly, they include the metric weight equivalents that we are more used to working with in the UK. The book is a little light on photographs ie only about 1 in 5 of the recipes show the finished item, which I find disappointing in a cook book. However, I am spoilt for choice as to what to cook from this book, so many of the recipes are invitingly delicious reading. I bake regularly, so this will become a well-thumbed resource.
If Anna's publishers ever look at these reviews, I would like to make the following comments:
* If Anna's shows are appearing on UK TV, please try to get her books into the UK for us to buy
* Anna provided excellent guidance on converting North American measures to metric, but it would also be helpful if you could also do the same for some ingredients such as bittersweet/semi-sweet chocolate
* I would also like to have some guidance on when to use cake/pastry flour vs all-purpose.
However, all of the above should not detract from the fact that this is a great baking book. I am so happy that after several months of searching, I have finally been able to purchase it.
