5.0 out of 5 stars A sexist breath of fresh air in this politically correct age, 19 Sep 2000
By A Customer
This book was published in the mid eighties and has a preface written in the early nineties explaining why it is still relevant today. If you are a feminist you will NOT like this book. If you are an English student, I have never found a better example of sexist literature. It is however a form of escapism to another age, where political correctness didn't exist. And if it did, was ignored!

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the funniest books I have ever read, 13 Sep 2001
By A Customer
I discovered this book at University and it is fab. I am female and though not as feminist as others I think I can hold my own and I still think it is hilarious. I would truly recommend it to anyone, especially the bit on childcare.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hey, girls love this book too!, 26 Sep 2001
By A Customer
...I'm a feminist and I have loved this book for years. As Mr O'Rourke says, 'We are all bachelors now, strangers in a home we never made.'
I don't know what I love most about it. The 'decorating with alcohol' pictures? ('Take a big drink. See, it looks better already!') The recipe for emergency Bloody Mary mix? The advice how to get your date to cook dinner? (works on men too, heh heh heh.)
Never mind gender politics. If you can laugh, buy this book.
