Format:Audio CD
The title really sums it up. As a paid-up member of the Kirkby Bootboys Brigade, I could fill the review with all the usual adjectives like "superb", "pure", "divine" etc., but it really is pointless. If you have heard her before, especially singing Bach, this CD will come as no suprise and is a pure delight.

Beautiful singing by the ever-delightful Emma Kirkby backed by some excellent playing by Hogwood's Academy of Ancient Music. Kirkby has impeccable phrasing and a light touch with Bach and there is an undeniably English sound to this CD, in places almost a hint of Purcell sung in German. This is Bach with a smile. Buy and enjoy.

I am transported to Heaven hearing this great music. Kirkby's voice sooths the soul. It is the total opposite of the screeching that characterises todays modern female pop singers. Turn on-tune in- go to Heaven!!

Hogwoord seldom recoreded Bach music comparied to others ex Handel, Pucell--and so on baroque composer, but in this set he worked with Kirkby perform fully wedding cantata's joyous mood. I feel so regret that why Hogwood didn't record more bach cantata??

In BWV82, we could find more version, includes centre-tenor, mezzo-soprano, baritone, and bass. This is what Bach revised to use for different purposes. I deeply love this song, and collect more to compare, I must say we would find seldom mezzo-soprano version in market but Kirkby in fact would be one of the most outstanding, she shows different bach to beautiful and clear artistic conception.

For these reasons, I strong recommand all to collect it to listen, a different Bach what it's not easy to get.
