I have a big collection of Bach cantatas (three complete sets), but I always like to try the occasional new one. This one is really rather good. Counter-tenor Damien Guillon sings the solo cantatas BWV170 and 35 beautifully, the delightfully-named Le Banquet Céleste play beautifully and the whole thing is beautifully recorded. So, beauty abounds. And in addition you get a couple of organ pieces, nicely played by Maude Gratton, who also plays the organ sinfonia on BWV35.
I did a quick back-to-back with Gardiner's Cantata Pilgrimage version of BWV35. This is nice, but M. Guillon sings better than does Robin Tyson for Gardiner and the recording is nicer (the Gardiner recording (live of course) is flatter and less lively).
