A must-read for new parents,
By Karate Kid (Manchester, England) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Babynomics: Moneysaving tips for savvy parents (Paperback)
I bought this book for a friend who is expecting her second child - I just wished that I had bought it in time for the first! Packed with useful suggestions and written in a funny and accessible style, it is just what new parents need. Going from pregancy to school years, Madeline Thomas offers pragmatic tips for saving money, while keeping your little one happy. Despite the girly front cover, it nice to see that the author does not assume only women will buy and read this book. Dads are parents too!

Bit of a Godsend,

This book will help the family finances survive kids of all ages, not just babies. I appreciated the humour and practical common sense. And now I need another copy because a friend in need has already got mine!

A little outdated,
This review is from: Babynomics: Moneysaving tips for savvy parents (Paperback)
I'm expecting my first baby and decided to buy this book as the thought of how much the baby was going to cost was causing many a sleepless night! I only received this book yesterday but it has already set my mind at rest that it is possible to bring up a child on a reasonable budget and not to be too scared of the cost of everything. I would like to point out that some of the imformation is a little outdated. I've checked up on two benefits that the book states are available to everyone and neither are available any more, so don't let it get your hopes up about grants you will receive as it may not be the case.
I've still rated the book as 4 stars because I think the information for as your child grows won't date and will be relative when the time comes for me to need it. Over all if you are feeling a little stressed about the cost of expanding your family I would recommend this book, just double check some of the information don't just take it for granted that it's still correct.
