This product is great. I have long thick hair and it looks great after using this. It is is easy to use. A little practise and job done. The curls stay in. You can make whatever size of curl you require. I prefer different sized curls so just section the ammount of hair you want wind around the wand leave for the desired time and away you go. I can even achieve curls at the back of my head. It obviously gets hot but there are some protecting gloves supplied. I don't use them much as I can achieve what I want without them.
I found with my hair not to straighten it first as the curls hold in better although a little heat defence spray dosn't do any harm to your hair. I have tried other curling products but this is the best by far. I would recommend to anyone.

I was really looking forward to using this wand when it arrived, but I hadn't thought about whether the length of my hair would matter or not - it did! I have shoulder length fine hair but it has several layers in it and it would only just wind around the wand once so no curl acheived. If I had realised I would have bought the smaller wand at 13 - 25mm which would have been much more suitable to my layered hair. It does get very hot and I managed to burn my hand and forehead within 5 minutes of trying it but I'm sure with practice this would improve. It does come with finger gloves but it was a bit weird trying to separate my hair with the gloves on, again I think I'd improve with practice. I will now sell this one and buy the smaller one and hopefully soon be a master at creating curls.

Bought this item after reading other reviews and after trying the much more expensive but effective Wella Pro Wand at my local Salon. Sadly this doesn't seem to suit my hair type. I have long, very thick, strong, curly hair and even on the highest setting, this does not curl my hair with any definition, nor does it hold. It may be more effective on less resistant types of hair, and the size of the barrel means that it isn't really suitable for short hair or hair which has short layers. I have achieved a much better curl using a gas powered curling tong.
