We bought this gate as a dog barrier to be used across the double doors of our office. It works very well and is even sturdy enough to be used freestanding and not needed to be fixed to the wall. For a toddler I would recommend the wall fixings though and it can quite easily be removed by clipping the barrier on and off. If there is a downside to this product, it is that to fold it flat you have to remove the corner rods which are held in place by tension and this can be quite fiddly and not as easy as it could have been hence we tend to leave it in its angled position when its not being used across the doors, which isn't great if you haven't the space.
I bought this gate to stop our dog from getting out and because we have a wide hallway this gate was perfect for the job.
My daughter is now 21 months and has not yet discovered how to open it.
We use it to "protect" our kitchen.
Easy to install, easy to open with one hand, easy to clean.
Resistant when she was trying to climb it or to shake it (we managed to teach her not to do it anymore !)
For the maker:
Could be improved if it could close by itself after 3 minutes (so you never forget to close it !).
