The Chicago Pressure Indicator Gate will fit openings of between 73-93 cm with the 2 free extensions included in the box. The gate will extend up to 120 cm with further extensions which are available separately. The Chicago features unique pressure indicators which clearly show when the gate has been fitted correctly, minimising the risk of accidents. It has a curved top and is 75 cm high. The gate opens in either direction and features a triple locking mechanism.

I have received this gate yesterday and my husband and I spent more than 30 mins trying to put it together without any use at all. The instructions are useless and confusing. The instructions refer to the parts as a,b,c etc which is fine but then in the how to put it together part it does not refer to these letters at all just the words by name. Furthermore it is unclear where you should even start in the instructions with various sub headings. I am shocked that anyone can use this product and that babydan can have such poor instructions and even sell this. Babydan Chicago Indicator Gate with Extensions
I am now adding to this review at a later date- we have managed to put the gate together now (without using the instructions) and it seems to be strong and work fine. It is a little stiff to open but hopefully this will get better.

I bought the babydan gate as it's extensions fit the width for the top of my stairs. I had already purchased the babydan Configure gate for the bottom of our staircase (normal gate would not work) and it was easy to fit. The instructions for the Chicago gate were a little more tricky to follow (but I managed to fit it without hubby!). The pressure indicators are handy but I should point out that when the gate is fitted according to the indicators it makes the gate so tight and secure that opening the handle of the gate is tricky ESP with one hand!!!! But I would rather that than it be too loose. However if u use the wall mounting cups and fix it to the wall there is mo need to make it so tight. The only other advice I can give is remember to check the height of the gates fixing points (I didn't!) ESP if one side is attached to a staircase banister/ wooden spindle. I got so caught up in finding the right width fixing that I forgot about if it would meet the banister at the right point. So I had to raise the gate 2cm from the floor in order to get a secure fixing. From floor to centre point of top fixing it measures 74cm. :)

This gate fitted an awkward size bottom on the stairs really well. Its used very frequently with no problems and I am so pleased with it. It can be used in a variety of door sizes and I still have an extra extension if I need it. Great value for money too.
