The Danamic Indicator Gate by BabyDan is a standard pressure mounted gate that easily fits into doorways, staircases and other openings. The gate comes with a simple one-handed opening mechanism for ease of use. The gate is designed to be quickly fixed using pressure mounting, so there are only a couple of holes to drill. The gate height is approximately 78 centimetres and the wide door opens either way. This safety gate has a unique designed indicator that shows whether the gate has been fitted correctly. Due to variations in house design it is advisable to double check all measurements. It fits openings from 72.5 to 81 centimetres. From 72.5 centimetres to 79.5 centimetres you can use the standard gate, from 79 to 86 centimetres with one extension, 86 to 93 centimetres with two extensions and 93 to 100 centimetres with three extensions. A step plate can be fitted to the bottom of the gate, which can be bought separately (not included). The gate has a non-toxic wipe finish for easy care.

We purchased this gate because of the option of extending it and the fact that you don't need to screw it into the wall. The two previous gates I'd bought for my hallway had been useless and not particularly safe as they screwed into the wall and came loose after around a month of use, though neither of these were from the Babydan ranges.
We've had this gate now for well over a year and its exceptional, we've only had to tighten the nuts once after so much use and it doesn't lose any integrity when you add the extensions, it stays solid with no wobble, which had worried me previous to buying. It may be a little more expensive than most gates on the market, once you add the extensions, but its by far the best gate out there.
Especially if, like me, you need it for a larger doorway or area. We use ours across our hallway as we have two steps in the middle.

We've had ours installed for about 18 months now and it's worked well. I've only had to re-adjust the tightness once in that time so I certainly haven't had the problem the other reviewer notes. It's easy to install as well.
I am very happy with this gate. I've ordered one to try, it proved to be very good and in the end ordered two more.
It is very easy to assemble. I did it my self in very little time. It is great that there is no need to do holes on the wall, specially if you are renting it is definitively a plus. It is easy enough for an adult to open it with just one hand while carrying the baby on the other arm but complicated enough for the child to open it since there is the need to click the button and lift the handle at the same time and then lift the gate door to open it. It also works great with spiral stairs if we get the adaptors.

This gate doesn't have fixed left and right with swinging door - instead the door is part of the left side, so when you squeeze the button and lift it up the door swings open away... Read more
