Product Description

Review

The foods a baby eats in his first few months can not only influence his taste buds and preferences for life, but also have a profound effect on his short- and long term health. Little wonder then that many parents feel a little daunted and the prospect of weaning their child onto solid foods. Thank goodness this book has come along then, to help take the worry and wonderment out of how to feed your baby! There are really useful sections on preparing and storing food, when to introduce new foods, family allergies, vitamins and minerals , then sections specifically for 6-9 months (think recipies such as chicken and apple couscous), 9-12 months (salmon, sweet potato and broccoli chowder) 12-15 months (salmon patties) and toddlers (mozzarella- topped herby vegetable loaf) - as well as family meals (beef bouruignon, perhaps?). A delicious addition to your baby cookbook range. --Junior Pregnancy & Baby

So So 18 April 2011
Format:Hardcover
Bought this a few years ago when beginning the weaning process with the little one. It's an ok book, has some good recipes but not one I'd recommend for the busy mum since a lot of the recipes aren't particularly quick for those of us struggling with fitting everything into each day. There were some inspirational ideas and a few good recipes for the family meals that meant only cooking the one meal albeit making a few slight adjustments with seasonings and spices etc. Also found that many of the recipes don't take into consideration the cost of buying some of these ingredients that aren't really the store cupboard/regrigerator staple of those of us who aren't uber-health conscious to the extreme or practising vegans/vegetarians. All in all, an ok book but not particularly helpful or one to use on a daily basis etc.

If like me you struggle for inspiration, it provides simple recipes for really healthy meals for babys to toddlers. Found this book great as it says how many portions you can get out of one batch. Would highly recommend it.
