Product Description

Amazon.co.uk Review
The fourth "video board book" from the Baby Einstein people is their most engaging product yet. Aimed at slightly older audiences (ages 1 to 4), Baby Shakespeare combines poetry with the usual mix of festive classical music, bright objects and happy thoughts designed to stimulate young minds. This video is aimed at exposing little tykes to the language context. Twelve words (grass, tree, etc.) are explored in pictures and poem form with plenty of playful stops for children singing their ABCs and close-ups of brightly coloured toys in action. We even meet Baby Einstein's first host: a dragon puppet named Bard, who (along with his friends) playfully participates in the action. He deserves a repeat performance. --Doug Thomas

Synopsis
A dragon, called Bard, who loves words introduces this educational programme for children and discovers the delights of poetry.

4.0 out of 5 stars A good follow up to Einstein and Mozart, 15 Mar 2002
By A Customer
My son adored the Baby Mozart video and has enjoyed Baby Einstein. He was especially fond of the dragon puppet, what joy to find he is the "narrator" of Baby Shakespeare. This video introduces the baby to key words with a short poetry excerpt, some music (Beethoven) and entertaining puppetry. My 14 month old loves it, he remains transfixed throughout. He was beginning to tire of Mozart and Einstein so this has been a welcome addition to the set. Only small criticism, would be nice to have these tapes with English voiceover.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, my 15 month daughter giggles and talks at it !, 4 Oct 2001
By A Customer
My 15 month daughter loves this video, it is the only video we have for her for which she will sit still and watch. She giggles at the various puppets, copies the words, and points regularly at the screen. It therefore definitely appears to achieve its aim of being both fun and educational.

2.0 out of 5 stars A hit with my 2-year-old but not impressive, 26 Nov 2001
By A Customer
The video concentrates on about 6 words, interspersed with some strange poetry excerpts, most of them American. The narrator sounds pretty amateur, and being American, pronouces the key words pretty badly ('fraag' for frog). Of the series I'd recommend Baby Mozart but not this one.
