1.0 out of 5 stars May appeal to some American Moms 3 Jun 2010
Format:Board book|Verified Purchase
I bought this for a new Dad having read an amusing article about this range of books. Unfortunately the last page, after instructions for making breakfast, reads 'Now shoo baby, Momma's hung'. I can't see this punchline working in the UK, even with mothers, but at least you can now make an informed purchase! It's the only time I've returned an Amazon book.

3.0 out of 5 stars Fun Small Gift 8 Aug 2011
Format:Board book
Funny as a gift for new parents with an irreverent sense of humour...although very American style and language which some may not like.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hilariously inappropriate 11 May 2006
By Michaela - Published on
Format:Board book|Verified Purchase
The "Baby Be of Use" series is completely hilarious, and makes an AWESOME inappropriate baby shower gift (for anyone with inappropriate-humor-loving, baby-having friends).

It's true, there are some people in this world who might not find it funny to imply that a baby should prepare your breakfast for you, or learn how to make Daddy a margarita (see _Baby, Mix Me a Drink_). You know who you are. If you snickered at all at this idea, you must purchase these books immediately.

The books are the same size and construction as all the other little board books cluttering up your house, so your child can chew them to pieces long before he/she ever figures out what the words mean. The words and illustrations are simple and large, which of course makes the whole thing even funnier.

Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars FABULOUS BABY SHOWER GIFT! 27 Nov 2009
By K. Funcheon - Published on
Format:Board book|Verified Purchase
Drawn up to mimic itself as a baby book but the humor is all adult. This whole series is super creative, adorable, and will be the hit of the shower! All my friends could not get enough of these books and all requested where I purchased them so they could do so as well! Make sure you give them to a mother with a sense of humor though!

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant Postmodern Analysis of Affinal Responsibilities 29 Feb 2008
By Dashing Product Avenger - Published on
Format:Board book
In a sweeping break with traditional mores, Lisa Brown boldly unfeminizes the act of desiring breakfast preparation services to flow from infants' tiny paws. It is made real and lent a frightening shimmer when considered in the context of her oeuvre.

Her strident clarion will ring down the halls of history and she will be remembered as the liberator of breakfast: let the Baby do it. After all, they just lie there all day--they must be good for something.

Babies of the world look out! Lisa Brown is onto your game. You've had a party for too long--now it's time for a festivus for the rest of us. I loved it.
5.0 out of 5 stars A must read for babies 6 Aug 2013

These books are great! I gave a set of them to new parents and they loved them all. Everyone laughed as they passed it around and read it. Loved the pictures and the easy read - only wish the baby could actually do it.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not impressed 5 Feb 2013
By ChrisB72 - Published on
Format:Board book
I've seen the comments on the other negative review of this book indicating that it's meant for adults - I don't see anything in the information relating to the book to indicate that, and my local library obviously didn't either because I found this little "gem" in the baby board books section. My toddler chose it, among others, to take out of the library. I wasn't aware that I had to check board books to make sure the content is appropriate before getting them out! My eyebrow raised at the penultimate page and I downright refuse to read it to her after seeing the last one!
