When and how does it learn to identify its parents? · FIRST STEPS Learn to recognise baby's determined attempts to move, to sit up, to crawl and finally to walk. · TAKING HOLD A new born can grasp at a finger, a two year old has mastered complex manual dexterity and creativity. Watch this rapid development. · WORD OF MOUTH A baby can learn a language - any language - in three years. See the progress from gurgles to story telling. · THE THINKER The often unnoticed development of reasoning, thinking and problem solving. Understand what is happening when baby plays. · YOU AND ME In three years children establish important relationships with their parents, with adults and with each other. Be alert to the subtleties of shyness, jealousy and making friends.

I had an original video copy which I have used in teaching child development at GCSE. Each programme/section is very clear in the stage of development it is focusing on and very informative. If I were a new parent, I would find the programmes answered a lot of the questions as to why my child would be doing something at that particular age. For teaching, once the students have got over the cooing at the super images, they have found that the information given re-inforces the rather dry text book information in a much more lively relevant way. The length of each section also fits in well into the lesson allocation as it allows time for debate afterwards.

This video is brilliant - it's entertaining, fascinating and very easy to watch and will help you to understand (and facilitate) the development of your baby's brain and therefore his or her healthy physical, intellectual and emotional development

Boring and pointless
This DVD has limited information and is not worth wasting time on, search else where. Thoroughly disappointed as I was expecting some useful information.
