An excellent guide on how to play with a new baby.,

I bought this book, as I wanted to sing and recite rhymes to my baby, and made very quick use of it. It is divided into age categories from new born through to 36 months. THere are a number of suggestions for activities to do with your baby at different times of the day - eg bathtime, changing games, rhymes, bouncing games. etc. There are a remarkable collection of poetry, rhymes, nursery rhymes to share with your baby, as well as many helpful and interesting suggestions for activities. As your child gets older, there are very useful lists of suggested art equipment that you might consider collecting as well as recipes. Ditto, for very useful book lists, recordings, video titles appropriate to the age and seasonal celebrations and rhymes. I have really enjoyed exploring and learning many new songs and rhymes with my baby over the last seven months. My only criticism is that some of the tunes quoted are not familiar to me being English: a cd of regularly used tunes would have been very helpful - but nonetheless, an excellent buy.

Packed with ideas for fun and games with your Baby/Toddler,

This book is brilliant. I am a first time parent and having not spent very much time around young children I didn't know many games/nursary rhymes/fun songs. We've had loads of fun from this book and I would definately recommend it. Many of the games are not only fun, but also stimulate development, particularly speech and locomotion.

Loads of ideas,

With both myself and my 17 month old son suffering from cabin fever (locked up in the house with atrocious weather outside) I'd run out of ideas to keep him busy and he was running out of patience. This book is a life-saver ... lots of ideas for art, music, songs, activities, recipes for all ages up to 3. A little goldmine and I thoroughly recommend it.
