I stumbled across this book when my baby was born 2 1/2 years ago. I'm delighted that Amazon UK now stocks this so it is easier to order, and subsequently I have bought it for a number of friends.
The book is divided into chapters based on the age of the child - from 0 to 3 years, and there are suggestions as to activities, songs, games etc for each age group. Each chapter is preceded by general developmental milestones for the age of the child, and divided into subtitles such as 'quiet times' 'changing games' 'outdoors' etc.
At the end of the book, there are extensive suggestions about books, art equipment and toys for each age group and activities for each time of year.
This book is a major treasure; there are so many things I have learnt in the way of rhymes, music, wonderful art suggestions (including recipes for play dough!) and games that I wouldn't have thought of otherwise. I am genuinely grateful to Elaine Martin for compiling such a treasury of information for parents of very young children.
I really can highly recommend this book - and no, I don't know the author.
