Review
The illustrations are bright and distinctive and the last double spread summarising the baby's development is most helpful and likely to encourage the young listeners to talk and question (Books for Keeps 20040704)
A clear, often witty, text combines perfectly with the pictures to make this a most original picture book. (Books For Keeps 20040704)
Contemporary wordplay for the text and a jaunty colour palette make this story about the development of a baby inside Rosy's mum appealing. (Nursery world 20040610)
An excellent book with an interesting and effective design. (Books For Keeps 20040704)
Uniquely fresh (Parents News 20040604)
A funny, colourful, and clever book that will provide perfect entertainment for young children. (Amazon 20030601)
The funny descriptions of both the developing baby and accounts of family life make it an excellent and informative book. (Family Interest Magazine 20030701)

...light-hearted and amusing... (Writing Magazine 20030801)
From the Publisher
This is Kes gray's first picture book for Hodder, following his success with Eat Your Peas, winner of the Children's Book Award 2001, and Sarah Nayler's first ever picture book.
This book follows the development of a baby told through the eyes of a child. Each month, the pages in the book get bigger, reflecting increase of time and size, until at the end the pages are full size, as is the baby, ready to be born.
Sarah Nayler's wonderfully quirky illustrations bring out all the humour in Kes' text. She is an up and coming illustrator with an already established reputation.
Kes Gray won the Children's Book Award 2001 for Eat your Peas with Nick Sharratt. He has also been voted by the Independent as one of the Top Ten children's authors.
