Product Description

In Baby, the prequel to the Species Intervention #6609 series, Netty is a naïve teenage farm girl given in marriage to an older brutal opportunist disguised as a prominent citizen during the Prohibition years in Sussex County, New Jersey. After years of enslavement, Netty flees into the night from her rapist husband, traveling back to her parents’ farm, where she rescues an enigmatic and damaged creature named “Baby” with whom she falls in love.
Netty and Baby find happiness and fulfillment until a handsome Italian stranger, Wil, comes into Netty’s life, creating a tense love triangle made more fraught by Netty’s struggle to hide the bizarre and wondrous changes to her body caused by loving Baby. Baby’s miraculous healing powers on the nature around them can’t be ignored either. The heart-rending and astonishingly brutal climax to their story comes as all three face challenges that ultimately lead to transcendence and the discovery of a new world that promises resurrection.

Baby is the first book in the Alien Species Intervention #6609, an alien apocalyptic saga spanning 200 years from the Prohibition to the distant future. It encompasses tender love between divergent species, political downfalls and acts of unspeakable violence. When you think you’ve figured it out . . . WHAM! You won’t see it coming. Thriller, horror, science fiction and fantasy all in one, the series is a gripping psychological exploration of how the inherent greed and evil of man is dooming planet Earth and its inhabitants.

Warning: Alien Species Intervention #6609 contains violence that a sensitive reader may find confronting.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing! 6 Jan 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
I wasn't sure I was going to like this book, ET was not my thing and the description compares the two. However I quickly fell in love with it and could not put it down! Netty is a young womsn who is married off at a young age to a cruel heartless man. Netty flees on day and returns to her parents house. Broken hearted and shattered dreams leave you feeling so much sympathy for her. One day Netty finds Baby, a creature never seen before. With Baby's love and care things change completely for her. Netty then meets the love of her life Wil who accepts her for who she is and what she's been through. The ex husband catches up with them for a shocking twist! The ending of this book is fantastic and leaves you begging for more!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Start to a Series... More Please!! 4 Jan 2013
Format:Paperback
I absolutely loved this book!! It was original and inventive and beautifully written. The character of Netty is a woman of her time. She survives horrible injustices and still holds true her own ideals and all in the late 20′s and early 30′s of rural New Jersey. J.K. Accinni draws a beautiful portrait of the locale and the people who live there. This is a dark tale, of hate and betrayal, but with hope and love, but it steps outside the box, delivering a page turner and an ending you might not expect. I literally read this book in like 5 hours as I couldn't put it down, needing to find out what happened to Netty, Wil and Baby. Baby, a character to fall in love with, truly beautiful and charming. I look forward to reading the other 4 books in this series, and finding out where J. K. Accinni will take me.

I received this book from the author for an honest review.

What an amazing story that is so unique and refreshing you will be looking forward to what happens next! The characters the Author creates are so detailed and the story she weaves heart wrenching! The hardships of a young girl trying to find her way back from a horrible abusive marriage is a story in itself, but when coupled with an extraterrestrial visitor that becomes her reason to survive, will have you engrossed until the very end.

Jeannette or Netty, is a young poor farm girl living in the Sussex County community of New Jersey during prohibition. With stars in her eyes, she and her family welcome the attentions of an aspiring lawyer named Robert, who even though is much older then her, will give her a secure marriage and safety for her future away from the derelict farm they live in. But not every storybook wedding has a storybook ending and soon everything and everyone that Netty cares for has died or been murdered. She herself is locked into a prison of a mansion, continuously raped and abused by her husband. Soon she finds out a secret that will have her fleeing in the dead of night, returning to her life on the farm. Struggling to bring life back into the farm, Netty chances upon a bigger secret that will have her doubting her own eyes. When Baby comes into her life, everything turns golden, her life, her farm, even the pies she bakes. Things couldn't get any better. But she was wrong and soon love comes into her life too in the most unexpected way in Wil, a young man looking to make his own way in life. Their budding romance evolves and Netty realizes that in order to go forward in life she will need to finally face her past and remove Robert totally from her life.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Dark Tale, but a MUST READ!! 15 Dec 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
I received a copy of this book from the author in return for an honest review.

Wow, I love science fiction, but this book is much more! It's a love story.

Netty is a wonderful character. Unfortunately, she is forced to endure abuse from her rapist husband. Although badly treated, her spirit is not broken. When an opportunity to escape arises, she takes it. I loved her warm and generous heart. When she finds a hurt creature, she takes it in and looks after it. She names it Baby.

Baby is an alien, who has a mission. One that gets blurred once he meets Netty. I grew attached to Baby. He has a unique way of looking at things, almost childlike. However, his mission is not altruistic.

Wil is also a fantastic character. He is loving and kind, and just what Netty needs. Together, the three of them make themselves a unique family.

I knew going in that this book would be dark, but I felt a bit like a rabbit caught in headlights! I was totally fascinated with this story! The violence is very disturbing, but I found myself completely hooked. I found the characters very life like, and I became very sympathetic to them. I also took an extreme dislike to Netty's husband. He deserved worse punishment for his crimes! The book is very fast paced and before I knew it, I had reached the end. The ending was a complete shock, and had me in tears. I am now looking forward to reading the next book in the series, Echo.

J.K. Accinni has written an amazing science fiction story that tugs on every emotion: anger, disgust, hate, love, happiness, sadness and terror. Due to the extreme violence, I do not recommend this book to young readers, or those who are squeamish or of a nervous disposition. I do, however, recommend this book if you love a well written science fiction/love story that will stay with you long after you have finished the book. - Lynn Worton
