I can't recommend this book highly enough! I bought this book after the birth of my child who we found had downs, this book helped us so much. It tells you everything you need to know without talking at you. Written by people with downs children, even my health visitor was impressed. Congrats to new mums x

It is a very optimistic book and quite realistic at the same time, giving people's accounts of the problems but also the fun and precious side of life of leaving with a DS child. Having said that, a large portion of the book focuses on US regulations and systems, so it was not relevant to me. Plus, a lot of the info was very general and applied to most children, not just DS children. I dont think it really helped me understand how i can help my child.

Our little one was diagnosed with DS after birth and we had no idea of what to expect. After returning home and scouring the internet for more information than what the hospital could give i stumbled across this book. It is extremely informative and easy to read and details many of the concerns you will have for your child health.
