Product Description

Meet Babbit, a garrulous toy bunny who has a startling adventure - that he can't stop rabbiting on about! Picnics, piggy-in-the-middle and evading capture by monsters are all in a day's work for this talkative carrot-lover. But how will his flipperty-floppity day end? This is a stunning new direction for internationally acclaimed illustrator, Lydia Monks.

Babbit 9 Sep 2011
By S Riaz TOP 50 REVIEWER VINE™ VOICE
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
Babbit is looked after by the big one and the little one. The little one is supposed to look after him, but sometimes she doesn't do that good a job at it... While having a picnic, poor Babbit is captured and ends up tied to a tree with splinters in his bottom. Luckily, after searching high and low, the little one does manage to find him and run home - even more luckily, she can run really fast. This is a lovely story, showing all the fun escapades children get up to with that one, favourite toy, who shares their adventures. The writing is just a little bit naughty, enough to provoke giggles, and the illustrations are, of course, excellent. Lydia Monks is such a talented author/illustrator and this is a wonderful book to read aloud and share the joy of reading with your own little one (and their cuddly of course!).

Scary! 21 Feb 2012
Format:Paperback
I bought this book on the strength of the author's previous work at illustrating. I was extremely disappointed. My children are perhaps on the more sensitive side when it comes to nightmares etc, so this story of a witch stealing a rabbit, tying it up and planning on eating it was too much for them. It ended well of course, but those images at bedtime were definitely not appropriate.

Not as good as her other books, pictures were adequate but the story had a really naff ending and failed to keep my two year old amused. We bought this book on the back of her illustrating Julia Donaldson books, who really knows how to captivate and amuse children with her rhyming rhythmic storylines. In future we'll stick to buying Julia Donaldson's books illustrated by Lydia Monks. We feel Lydia's best at illustrating not story writing.
