These tongs are really good if you're wanting nice, natural waves with volume.
I have quite thick, coarse hair and these tongs just help to smooth my hair whilst giving it a bit of definition which is perfect.
That saying, it does take a bit longer than straightening etc but I think that's more to do with my shortcomings in the hairdressing dept!

My hairdresser always manages to make my curly hair look sleek and shiny but when I try and replicate the style I just don't have the skill or enough hands! She recommended I try these tongs and let me have go with these which they use in the salon. I thought they may only be availabe to salons and so sold on at salon prices, but I was delighted to find them for sale on Amazon and at a really competative price!
When I first used the tongs I managed to create some curl but this seemed to soon drop out. However after a little practice I am getting the hang of recreating the style between visits to my hairdresser. Initially I think I wasn't putting enough hair through; with practice I have found that the best setting for my hair is on the hottest, with a fairly thick strand of hair, which I hold in place with the tong until I can feel the heat through the hair and leave it to cool before dragging my fingers through. I also make sure I put serum or such through my hair to prevent heat damage.
Also size really does matter! I have mid to long length hair so chose the largest tongs which are perfect on the longer layers, however they are too big to use on my fringe so I have to swap to my ghd's to tame this.
I do have a couple of niggles with the design though. Firstly beware of the little, flip down, metal stand as this becomes very hot and can burn your fingers when you need to fold it away. If you do forget to move it it can then get tangled and drag through your hair spoiling the effect you are trying to create! Secondly I would like the cord to be longer although it isn't that short that it restricts the use of the tongs.
All in all if I can create my desired style with this product anybody can! Incidentally this is more than I ever could with my ghd's despite their claims - and at a fraction of the price!

I definatley recommend this product if you want loose waves, but if you want a curl it does not curl at all! It gives you a lot of volume and you get a few very loose curls but dont expect to get a tight or even remotley defined curl. I love this product and it creates a very glamorous and modern hair style giving your hair a lot of deph and volume but i was dissapointed when i bought it and found that it didn't create a defined curl. However it is a lovely hairstyle and looks professionally done, it takes me 10 mins to do my whole head and i have very thick hair so seperate it into 3 sections and if you want defined curls i strongly reccomend babyliss curling wand or the babyliss waving wand as they are amazing and love them both!!
Amazon was also great on delivery terms as it came very quickly in mint condition.

Dont purchase
Do not purchase these tongs if you use Hair products. They stick to you hair. I have been told by the suppliers that they can only be used on perfectly clean hair. Read more
