The first time I have used ceramic rollers, used to use the old style Carmen electric rollers (the ones with the spikes all over them, and not very comfortable to use). I am one very 'happy bunny' and one with nice curls now.
I would say that if anyone was looking to purchase some heated rollers then these are the Rolls Royce of them, well to me they are. Plus they treat your hair well with them being thermo-ceramic, and that is something to think about as usually heat can damage hair if used too often, but you can look better without damaging your hair with these.
I was really pleasantly surprised with these, turned them on, whilst looking at the various clips and bits that come with them, (clips, and bulldog grips come with the kit and are so easy to use) then proceeded to use them. They don't hurt, nothing sharp or spikey on them, therefore nothing for your hair to get caught up on which the old fashioned ones had to tendency to do. You get 8 large, 6 medium and 6 small in the set, which I found adequate in number. The smallest size does give you really lovely tight curls after 20 mins and ones that don't drop out after a couple of hours.
They are really light when in your hair, so light I almost forgot I had them in and carried on doing the dusting. To be left after roughly 20 minutes with curls that I didn't realise I could have. My normally straight, well scrunched up fringe was left feeling and looking curly and body given to my hair. I have past shoulder length thick hair and these just are ideal, cann't believe the effect of the curl, even my husband noticed the difference and in a nice way.... Read more ›

These are my first hot rollers - and I love them. No more time using traditional rollers on damp hair and no more painful tangles with a hot brush or curlers.
You, of course, get 20 ceramic rollers in the set; 8 large rollers, 6 medium sized ones and 6 smaller ones. You also get 20 metal pins to hold the rollers in your hair (the ends of the pins are coloured. Use the purple pins for the large rollers, blue for medium and pink for the smaller ones) and 10 metal butterfly clips you can also use to hold the rollers in place, or you can use them to section your hair while styling.
Simply turn on the base unit (the unit has a dial so you can select the best temperature for your hair type and length. The dial isn't numbered, which some people will find a pain), when they've reached the selected temperature (In about 10 minutes. one of the large rollers has a heat sensitive spot. When the spot turns white, you're ready to go), simply set them in your hair, put your makeup on, remove the rollers and go (Leave the rollers in your hair for at least 10 minutes. My hair is long and thick, so I leave them in for 30/40 minutes).
As the rollers are ceramic, my hair looks shinier and there is no frizz. After use the rollers are stored in the base (which has a lid), so my cat's can't wonder along and burn their noses!!

Because I have very straight and fine hair I was somewhat weary before buying this item. However, the curls came out really nice even though I was just learning to put the rollers in properly. Just hairsprayed over with Elnett and got a good hold all day. Would definitely recommened to others!!!

I have tried everything since about age 12 to try to put some lift and bounce into my shoulder length, dead straight hair and these are the best thing I have found in over 20 years!! I tried 80's bendy curlers, the dreaded perm, assorted curling tongs, hot air stylers and straighteners and these win hands down. In the morning, I put them in on dry hair in about 5 minutes before breakfast and by the time I've eaten and put on a bit of make up I can take them out and with a bit of hairspray the style lasts all day. I have had more compliments about my hair at work since I started using these than ever before! There is a definite 'knack' to putting in the pins, you have to really angle them into your head and push them in firmly and you do need to wind the hair tightly around the roller to help it stay firmly. I only use the plastic clips as a 'heat shield' if they are a bit near my ears!! There is also a technique to where to put them in I have found, I try to imagine how the hairdresser does it when you see them doing a shampoo and set. Since I got these I have bought another set to keep at my husband's flat and the travel set to take on holiday which I supplement with 4-5 curlers from the main box. I actually can't live without them now! Easy to use, incredibly quick, great results and gentle on the hair, can't ask for anything more!

I've owned these rollers for about 2 years now and I've worn them out!! I bought them because of the bulldog-style clips, thinking they'd be easier but seriously - once you master the pins they're much easier. The curl stays pretty much all day as long as you give the finished style a misting of hairspray and your hair will be lovely and shiny after you use these! I would never buy any other rollers now - I'm about to buy my second set as I've completely trashed them!!
