This is brilliant, I used to own the revlon big hair hot air styler and used it for 8 years, sadly it broke 5 years ago and is no longer available in the UK, since then I have tried numerous stylers trying to find one that could go through my thick curly hair and that had high enough power to actually dry it. Unfortunately most high powered stylers have thermal bristle brushes which get knotted up easily in thick hair and most "proper brush" stylers have low power and take hours to style my hair. Finally I found this which has "proper brush" and a decent heat output, my hair is left smooth and styled. I'm so glad I fanally managed to find a tangle free styler that is suitable for thick hair and that actually has enough power to dry it.

Before I review the product, I thought I'd give a bit of background info about my hair for those similar looking for a good product:-
Length:- Long - just past my shoulders
Style:- Layered through the back starting at the crown, and shaped through the front
Type:- Fine but abundant, very straight caucasian hair
Condition:- Coloured dark brown with semi-permanent dye - good condition
Problem:- Flat with no volume

I bought this on a whim after giving up on blow drying my hair months ago. My hair just doesn't hold style unless I go to the salon, and no one ever really achieves that salon perfect look on their own. I tried it out this morning after washing my hair with my volumising shampoo and conditioner; let my hair dry for 20 minutes then distributed a generous blob of volumising mouse through my hair.

When my hair was around 80% dry I ran some heat protection lotion through the ends and sectioned off my hair, starting with the nape. I put the dryer on the medium heat setting and ran it through my hair, lifting at the roots and bending through the ends. Each section was about 1.5" and took about 2 minutes to dry. Perfect! I was left with really silky soft hair, great shine and some nice volume at the roots - not vavavoom Bridget Bardot volume - but a really nice bounce and my layers were soft and defined.

My whole head took around 15 minutes to blow dry, and while I was waiting for it to dry naturally I managed to do all of my make-up so all in all it is a great time saving gadget. You could do this in the morning before work and not run late.

I have read a few reviews saying that it is really big and heavy to use, but I honestly found it to be very light, and the brush was the perfect size for my hair.

I get that I ordered this from a UK site, but it shipped from Germany and was available for shipment throughout Europe so I was surprised and disappointed when it arrived with a UK plug. This was easily fixed with an inexpensive adapter, but it would've been helpful to know that ahead of time from the product description.

This is my third of this type of styler, I've also owned a Conair and a Revlon and this is by far my favorite. Despite the other reviews I don't find it to be THAT big and it works great on my medium length (between chin & shoulder length) bob.

I pre-dry with a regular blow drier and finish with this, otherwise it would take forever to dry my hair, but that was also the case with the others. This worked exactly as expected and is comfortable in my hand, I'd buy it again, but I'd look for one with a plug for mainland Europe.

I was a bit confused as to how to use this at first, but once I'd realised it isn't a curling brush I quickly got the hang of how to use it. It's a bit like a hairdryer, but you can safely use it in your hair in the same way you would a brush; imagine brushing your hair whilst hot air comes out of the brush, that's what this product is and it's simply brilliant. It has a cool setting and two heat settings, and it's recommended that you allow your hair to be 80% dry before using the heat brush on it. I found it quicker and easier to use than a conventional hairdryer, as I didn't have to separate my hair and it really was just like brushing it dry. As for the effects - wow!

This creates volume - a lot of volume - and gives lift and texture to your hair. It won't create curls or flicks, unless your hair has a natural curl in which case this is enhanced. The layers in my hair were given really good definition after using this, and my hair felt bouncy and had a lovely shine to it. I have fine hair that tends to hang limply, but this brush gives it body and oomph. You can experiment with it and find the best method for your own hair, depending on length/texture; I found brushing it through my hair upside down and then twirling it round the ends like a barrel brush, really created a lot of volume.

This is one of those wonderful things that, when you buy it, you wish you'd always had it.

If you have very thick hair then this is not the product for you. According to the instructions you need to dry your hair with a hairdryer to about 80% first, which is a bit of a hassle you also need mousse which was a bit 1980's. Even then, it took ages for me to style my hair with this product. It would be quicker to use my usual dryer and then to finish with curling tongs - of which Babyliss do many good ones.

I can see, though, that if you have fine to medium hair this product could be good.
