The barrels of the BaByliss Pro Straight 220 Straightener are conveniently curved so that hair can be wrapped around the plates for curling. I decided to go for these due to price and how hot they get! It is very basic with no accessories but they do there job! These heat up within seconds and the plates help make my hair really shiny. I've gone from GHD's to these and am very pleased with my purchase especially considering the price difference!

I just wanted to write a brief note about the Babyliss straighteners to help those in the same situation. Last august the dreaded event occured... my GHDs broke and were no more.
Sad times. Mostly sad because I was thinking "I don't have £100 to spend on a new pair, but I dont want to look like a cockerspaniel!" After much product research, I thought I'd take a risk on these. I've had them for a few weeks now and they work just like my old GHDs, heat up quick, straighten my hair (or in my case, remove the kinks), so all in all I am a very happy bunny, only £15 out of pocket. Brilliant.

I paid just over 14 quid for these to replace some that had cost me 80. These are absolutely as good. They're very basic - there are two possible settings, 210C or 220C but no digital display. This hasn't caused a problem - less to go wrong! Size wise the plates are fine - I've got long, coarse, thick, curly hair and these straighteners do my whole head in about 5 minutes. You can do quite fat sections of hair and it will straighten them nicely. The ceramic plates leave it shiny and in good condition (I do use a heat defense spray!).
There's a slight downside in that the power cord is short - around a meter, but for the price these are the best straighteners I've ever had.
