The kit seems to be a good choice if you are on a budget. The design is very customizable for use in many configurations such as handheld, low angle etc. The instructions on how to construct these configurations are a bit vague but I found I could modify it myself after a bit of experimentation. On using it as a conventional shoulder mount it was quite comfortable. I recommend keeping your normal camera strap around your neck for extra stability and this allows you a certain amount of hands free actions without worrying about dropping it. My only concern is the locking nuts for the various angle arms seem a bit flimsy. You have to really screw them tight otherwise the rig moves with the weight of the camera and they feel like they would break easily if you should over tighten them. Up to now they have held OK but I am still a bit worried about the temptation to give extra pressure. I think there should be some kind of locking ratchet design rather than a straight forward screw and washer. Time will tell on this I suppose. Having said this, the kit is good and also looks real 'cool' too (if that is something that is important to you). Go ahead and try it. It's not that expensive, If the locking nuts do fail I suppose they could be replaced.
