Originally I bought this remote to use in my A level photography work to asist me in taking pictures on my canon EOS 450D when using a tripod to be certain that the camera definitely wouldn't move between shots. However I instantly found difficulty with using the remote as it has to be pointed directly at the infrared sensor on the camera in order to take a shot and I also found that it wouldn't work if the camera was left too long and the screen went bank as it often does when left after a period of time. I found this annoying as this doesn't usually affect the camera when shooting manually, so I found that if I wanted to continue shooting I had to press a button or something to get the screen to come back on, resulting in a slight movement of the camera which is what I wanted to avoid in the first place. I also still haven't found out what the other buttons are that aren't the "shoot" buttons; it would be useful if the product came with more information as there was hardly any, leaving it down to myself to work out how to really use it (although it's not that complicated anyway).
Nevertheless, on the positive side of things it didn't cost me much money and I can still use it to take whole family photos or something instead, as well as trying to persist with it in the meantime.
