This book about Butterflies is number four in a series of 12 published by "". They have been written with the intention of appealing to children and adults alike who are keen to learn about the world around them. All of the books have a short adventure story designed to entertain and educate and there is further educational material included in the book, with links to informative sites. This book is It is really two books in one. First a wonderful adventure of Mandy the Monarch Butterfly. A delightful story you can read to your kids. (a great parent.//grand parent bonding tool) Of course the children will learn about the life of butterflies by listening to the story. The second part is a beautiful set of brilliant color photos of all stages of the butterflies and their lives. With the pictures you are given some little known facts about the butterfly. If you have children or grand children you should have this book. The kids will love it and request it over and over, and you will enjoy ti.

I loved this book about butterflies; I must say I learnt quite a bit myself. The book is split into two sections the first a light hearted approach that younger children will love, humanizing the insects. The second half is full of facts about butterflies, which means it caters for a growing child who may become more interested in facts later on.

This entertaining and highly informative book is packed full of gorgeous photos of butterflies and images related to the lifecycle of butterflies. Beginning with a story format which would entrance a young audience, it then morphs into a much more scientific account appropriate to older readers, whist still engaging the reader with the bigger story of life and our environment.
Its' appealing cover beckons one to open, enjoy and learn and since it is relevant to young and old it deserves a permanent spot in the library to inspire a variety of ages.
5.0 out of 5 stars How cute and informative, great for curious young readers 19 May 2014

This book is so cute. It begins with a story of some butterfly friends. The story, though very cute and imaginative, is loaded with information about butterflies, in particular the Monarch and the Blue Swallowtail. After the story's conclusion there is fact after fact about all types of butterflies. This would be a great story just because, but it would also be a perfect book for anyone doing research on butterflies for projects or schoolwork. What a great find!!
