Spent ages looking at options for my elderly, hard of hearing mother and finally spotted this. She can now adjust the volume of her headphones to suit the TV program, without it interfering with anyone else watching. The sound quality is excellent and it has the added benefit of a pretty decent tone control too. My only minor gripe is that you can't turn it off, except from the mains, otherwise very good value for money and it does the job well.

Nice product. 30 Aug 2010
I got this for my 90 year old mother, primarily for watching tv,and also so I would not have to have the sound so loud. Also got her Able Planet Clear Harmony Behind-the-Head Stereo Headphones, which claim to be designed to hear more clearly, and hearing aid compatible. I wanted this product, the B-TECH BT928 HEADPHONE PRE- AMP, for two reasons. I wanted to be able to adjust the tone as well as the volume, and I did not want another wireless device, (already have enough). It works well, and I would recommend it. The only complaint is that there is no switch to turn it off. However I knew this before I bought it, from another review, and would still recommend it unless this one thing would be a problem for you.

Not Impressed 20 April 2010
I bought this to use as a booster for TV line out to provide an amplified headphone output for a person with mild hearing difficulties. The unit did not boost the volume at all when compared to listening to the TV without headphones & at the higher volume there was a notable buzz, presumably from the power supply. The unit was tried with 3 different sets of headphones with no noticeable difference. This may have been a faulty unit but not fit for purpose. Returned same day.
