We already had the main phone and base but after moving house we were going to have an extension done into the bedroom. My son suggested not to bother with the cost and mess of hard wiring a socket into the bedroom, just to purchase an addiitional handset. I had never thought of this. It was so easy to set up using the buttons on the main handset. We were up and running in three minutes! Great item, more than satisfied. Would recommend to everyone.

The facilities offered by this phone system are excellent BUT unfortunstely reliability is suspect. I have had two handsets fail in seven months. Fortunately they were covered by their guarantee.

No instructions for linking into existing system with product meant a websearch ending in a site that was not easy to get around but eventually told me how!
I do not find this version of BT Synergy as easy to use nor as good in use as an earlier version. One handset had to be replaced within weeks of use. Some handsets seem unable to retain a charge for more than an hour's use. Sound quality also very patchy.
I now regret buying an addional handsetfor my existing system. I should have got rid of the system and looked for a better product.

Works perfectly
Bought as a 2nd handset for upstairs and seems to work perfectly and straight forward to use. Took a little fiddling to get it connected to main phone, but not impossible.
