Excellent product,
This review is from: BT Response 75 Answer Machine - Metalic Grey (Electronics)
This product is just superb! I chose it for a home-based business because of it's advanced features and neat design. The clarity of your OGM and played messages is excellent, with useful override features including VIP function, auto 1471, variable answer modes and memo function. If you want an answerphone independant to the phone unit, which I can highly recommend, then you will not go wrong with this product.

Well built, reliable, and does the job.,

We have had one of these at work for a couple of years, and it's still going strong, which says something. Now we've bought a second one for another phone line. This machine is designed by BT and it shows. A clearly visible red button to delete calls, easy to use generally and I think a nice smooth design. It feels well built. My one complaint is that the standby battery (not supplied) is one of those odd things we used to call a PP9 I think. Why not standard AA batteries? Otherwise recommended and good value.
POSTSCRIPT: Shortly after writing the above, one of our Response 75 answerphones died. Now another Response 75 has died (within about a year). I spoke too soon about reliability; clearly there is a problem here which BT ought to sort out. Very disappointed. I would only give one or two stars now.

Dies too regularly,

Easy to use and performs well - trouble is it dies too readily. We are (or were) on our 2nd BT Response 75: our first just saw out the warranty, dying after 13 months. We had liked it so much we bought another, but this has now also died, albeit after 2 years. Is it me? Do I expect too much? For your info, 'we' are a UK couple in our 60s, so no kids at home, and only normal domestic useage. I agree with Kotovasii re PP3 batteries - they are very expensive and (possibly) unnecessary - but their cost pales into the proverbial insignificance when compared to repeated renewals of the entire unit.
