Safe and Secure
The BT Graphite 2100 has caller display so shows the caller's telephone number on the handset display. If the caller's number matches an entry stored in the phonebook, the name will be displayed instead. With Call Waiting, during a call, if another number is trying to reach you, you will hear a soft beep every 5 seconds.

Bought this for my aunt and she managed to operate it perfectly because I told her to forget most of the extra menu stuff and just concentrate on the green and red buttons for making and receiving calls.
Although it will simply slot into the normal incoming phone wires and sockets, bear in mind that it also needs a convenient mains plug handy near the base unit for charging. Obviously the phone itself can be carried around anywhere because it is wire-free!
The signal is so good that it worked way down a long garden too. One overnight charge lasts a full day of heavy useage away from the base unit.
Great clarity of sound, and easy to work the handsfree speaker (which is clear and good for both caller and receiver) and also you can use the menu to enter stored numbers etc. etc.
If the AAA batteries ever get to a point where they lose their charge too quickly, they are not in a sealed slot, you can buy a couple more and swap them over. I'd suspect that would only need doing after a year or two of heavy use.

We already have this phone, but I wanted two more handsets to give us a total of five (the maximum number you can pair with a base) so I bought another set from Amazon. I managed to pair two of the handsets to the original base which leaves us with a spare base and one handset which I've put to one side.
The thing I really like about this phone is being able to use it as an internal communication system. It's brilliant! We both have diffculty with stairs and I'm going a bit deaf. It's so much easier to talk to each other on the 'phone rather than shout or go up and down. My husband's just out of hospital and needs assistance. His being able to call me from his chair or bed while I go around the house and garden is so liberating for both of us. I downloaded (from the BT web site) a fuller User Guide than the one in the box. This has helped me understand the many helpful features this 'phone offers.
It works OK with the rather unsophisticated answer phone we've had for years - and it works just fine as a 'phone, too!

I bought this for an elderly relative and, as hoped, it was simple to set up, clear simple instructions, very clear and large enough buttons - a truely great phone for technophobes, elderly, sight or mobility difficulties with hands etc.
YET - it is also actually pretty stylish as well, better than the picture suggests, its slimline and quite cool in reality. It is classically modern/contemporary looking and not at all 'chunky'. Similar easy use phones can seem very clunky and basic, this one looks very nice and is totally unobtrusive while being very practical. A great mix of form and function.
It also has some great features in particular the speaker phone and address book, it linked up with another brand of DECT phone (philips, a second unit not master base station) very easily indeed. It also has a clear voice signal and can be set quite loud - there are likely those with better voice quality, but this is certainly a good performer on this and very clear for those with less than perfect hearing.
The only downside really are the ring tones you can choose, some are awful (hence 4 stars), athough one or two are bearable actually, so not all bad there. At least they are loud if needed!
