I was initially quite pleased with this unit.
The handset is a nice size, it supports caller ID (but not an alphanumeric address book so name/number mappings are not possible), the audio is clear, talk time is good and the range is good.

Unfortunately after just over 2 months it has gone the same way as my previous BT answering machine - it has developed the awful habit of answering an incoming call and taking a message, but then neither saving the message nor registering that there has even been any call on the unit. This is the worst possible behaviour for an answering machine; important callers think they have left a message, but I don't realise it and never return their calls.

My previous BT digital answering machine went exactly the same way, but after about 2 years. This has done it in 2 months. I've lost the receipt so no chance of getting it fixed under the guarantee either. If I never buy another BT unit again, it will be too soon!

I bought this phone because of its handsfree facility. It's only handsfree if you're an opera singer or town cryer. The mic simply isn't sensitive enough in this mode. I've exchanged it for the same model thinking it may have been a problem with that particular one. It wasn't. When I spoke to the nice lady at BT she said they had received similar complaints about that feature.

One of the worst product I have ever purchased. Nothing works fine with this, buttons are awful to us, voice quality is something like someone has called you from moon. It will be a good play toy for your 2 year old kid.
