Bought the phone specifically for use outside - we have large garden and wanted a phone with good range, robust and waterproof.

Good: It does what is says on the box and met my criteria. The LED torch is quite a nice bonus!

Bad: Annoying ring tones/melodies and tunes - a straight ring-ring would have been acceptable!

When I wrote this review, I thought it had reached the end of its life and was preparing to bin it - rated it a 2 star. It did not seem to charge and behaved unpredictably. However a last ditched attempt to try another base prompted me to remove the batteries, which reset the phone and its magically working again! So I would upgrade (but can't) my review to 3 or 4 stars.

Suited us perfectly.
Longer range gives better coverage in and around our house which has two foot thick stone walls.
Separate units for the transceiver and the charger allow the transceiver to be placed in the optimum position.

only gave 4 out of 5 because the belt clip is not that great, if you bend over then the phone falls off, clip it round the back and it's not too bad. Eberything else about the phone is 5 out of 5. Good volume (which I need), good sound quality, phone is built well and has a comfortable soft touch feel and grip, has caller display, not too small, I could go on. Would definitely recommend.

Brilliant for large gardens or estates, range up to 1 km is way in excess of any other cordless phone. Robust with excellent torch built in - ideal for house phone while gardening and doing outside jobs. Seems unique product - not widely advertised as it used to be and no longer in shops so have to look for it on-line. Seems typical now that specs for other cordless phones do not specify the range but beware, they are only up to 100m outside or 30m inside the house at best and mostly less than this. I could not find any other long range cordless phone, only expensive and limiting relay units. This Diverse Elements DECT phone is just superb.
Bought to replace a much older one whose charger base had failed, not the phone itself. Unit supplied was defective with nothing like the normal range my other Elements phones have so returned to Amazon who supplied an instant replacement which works perfectly like our others. Amazon returns service truly excellent - buy with confidence.

bought this for work and it does everything i want really quite well with just a couple of drawbacks.

I answer this phone upwards of a hundred and twenty times a day so it has to be one you can live with it does work well even 150 yards away from the cradle and holds its charge for a good 24 hrs before requiring a recharge
the screen is easy to read and programming numbers and names is fairly straightforward. Its also extremely robust i've dropped it loads of times already and its rubberised housing bounces and survives all i've thrown at it.

The drawbacks are the terrible ringtones and the fact that the dial and hangup buttons are the same one, leaves me occasionally not having hung up but that might just be me. Like all of these types of phones they specify simply ridiculous distances from the cradle this one states a full kilometre but that number drops as soon as any walls are introduced but as ive said it does work outside the house up to 150 yds away without any drop in quality so what more do you need.

in sum up its a slightly industrial phone that does what its supposed to oh and its got a very bright torch function which is actually very useful

I've bough already 4 of these where the last 2 were from amazon.

First headset was bough 4 years ago and was in 24 hours 7 days a week use as the main carry-around phone for the front desk. To this day the phone had only once replaced the batteries and thats about it. The rubber on the sides is long gone, so is the belt clip and the phone is visibly destroyed from the day to day usage, but it still works perfectly inclusive of the led light on the top.

I did not expect this phone to be so good and durable.

(Phone stopped working at one point at which we were about to throw it to bin. As a joke one of the ladies on the desk hit the phone in attempt of "fixing it" in her own way. Believe it or not, phone started to work again. This was now 2 years ago and phone still survives.

It is by far the longest lasting equipment on our front desk.

Will for sure buy more in the future and I keep on suggesting it to other.

It was easy to set up and it connected to the base station straight away, just couldn't make or receive calls! Called BT support and they said these were 'powerful phones' and the signal on my phone line might not be strong enough - could I go and try it in another house (!). Sounded like rubbish to me, so I sent it back.

I gave one of these a try to go with our BT Diverse handsets at the garden centre where I work.

Things I like:
-Rugged
-LED light
-Wireless charging
-Separate charger and receiver

Things I don't like:
-One button for call and hang up
-Tiny display
-Different operation method to all other Diverse handsets
-Seems to go into 'power save' mode at every opportunity, meaning you have to unlock the handset, then pretend to make a call, just to wake it up! VERY annoying and the reason I don't use it any more.

I can't really recommend this phone, especially not to anyone who is used to regular Diverse handsets. This little annoyances became very BIG annoyances after a short while!
