Finally a DECT phone which is equipped with some of the more usefull features such a distinctive ring tones based on Caller ID and SMS text messaging.

I chose this phone to be able to filter out random calls from known numbers by ring tone alone, and also to be able to receive SMS messages from mobile users. Allocating a 'VIP' ring tone to each entry in the phone book, means that one tone can be allocated for unkown numbers, and up to nine other tone for known callers.

The downside to the phone is that the SMS messages are done through a gateway service, so the message sender has to send the message to the service number, and then quote the intended recipient's number in the text of the message, so not as straightforward as it ideally should be.
