Suitable for both the home and the office the BT Converse 2200 telephone will work on a normal BT phone line, or on an analogue socket on a telephone system. The handsfree speaker also allows you to hold a conversation without lifting the handset. The BT Converse 2200 is also headset compatible as well. With a separate headset socket on the phone you can quickly plug in and talk handsfree. Answering calls via the headset is simple as this phone has a headset answer button.

This phone has excellent features and functionality (e.g. good volume adjustment on everything, making it easy to hear the other person), but is let down by the poor hands-free microphone which (unless you speak loudly very close to it) makes it hard/impossible for others to hear you when using the phone in speakerphone mode.

Amazon Verified Purchase
There is a need to take care whilst storing numbers on this phone. The last five memory buttons are preprogrammed by BT and although they can be overwritten, if they are accidently pressed during programming, a call is made. Two of the buttons are directory enquiries and a 2 second call I made accidentally cost £1.69.
Also, the memory is lost following a disconnection and these preprogrammed numbers are restored by default.

This phone is a great corded version, it does everything I want a phone to do. It has an amplifier as well as volume control, plus handsfree speaker and is hearing aid compatible. It has the usual ten memory buttons that are typical of this style of phone. A good all round value phone for those of us who do not want to use digital apart from when using mobiles.

The phone is beautiful, and dials out and receives calls perfectly well-with one rather large omission. The ringer is silent, regardless of the ringer tone and volume settings. Read more
