Product Description

Manufacturer's Description

The BT Voyager 2000 Wireless is a state of the art ADSL Modem developed for ‘Self Install’ ADSL combined with an IEEE 802.11b Wireless LAN Access Point. The Wireless Modem allows you to connect your personal computers to the broadband Internet like any other ADSL Modem without the use of cables between your computer and the ADSL socket.

Instead, Wireless Adapters such as the BT Voyager 1010 USB or BT Voyager 1020 Laptop send and receive signals to and from your PC and Wireless Modem.

This gives you the Wireless Freedom to Surf wherever you want in the home or office, and not be limited to where the ADSL socket is!

A complete package of Wireless Modem and in-line Microfilters ensures that fast Internet and your voice telephony are optimised. Two top class Microfilters protect the voice element of the line.

Box Contents

  • BT Voyager 2000
  • Power adapter and cord
  • Ethernet cable

5.0 out of 5 stars Share Your Broadband Connection, 27 Dec 2003

This review is from: BT Voyager 2000 Wireless ADSL modem for connection to broadband (Electronics)
My son recently asked me if he could share my Broadband connection and link my PC downstairs with his PC in his bedroom using wireless technology. Although I've dabbled in computing for many years I really was a novice when it came to networking. We knew that we wanted to use the wireless method rather than have wires running up the staircase, so after doing a little bit of homework via the internet we bought a BT Voyager 2000 wireless ASDL modem and two BT Voyager 1010 USB Adapters.
We then went about connecting the whole thing together, we thought it was going to be a long labourous task fraught with pitfalls and dissapointments en-route. We were amazed how easy the job was, as a matter of fact we were up and running in a matter of minutes all you have to do is follow the Quick Start instructions and you can't go wrong it's so so simple. To sum up, You do not need a University Degree to acomplish this task it is completely and utterly idiot proof and I would recommend these products to anyone wishing to share their broadband Internet connection within their own home. Go out and Buy Them !!!

I bought the Voyager 2000 wireless modem along with its sister wireless laptop card. Although Im not a PC novice I knew nothing about how to set up a wireless network....i was up and running in 15 minutes. Clear, consise instructions are given. The router looks good and the reception on the laptop is excellent. I would recommend this product to anyone.

Simplicity itself. 10 minutes (five of which were re-booting my PC, three to unwrap the modem) and it's up and running. Worked great with non-BT laptop and desktop wireless adapters (mine were Linksys). Wish I'd done it ages ago.
