Product Description

Morten Harket's new album, Brother, arrives two years after its predecessor Out Of My Hands, his first solo album since a-ha bowed out in Oslo in December 2010.  Morten's new album reunites him with fellow Norwegian Peter Kvint. Together, they have co-written three of the songs on Out Of My Hands.
With Brother, Morten also drew on a relationship which went back even further. For a lyrical partner, he turned to Norwegian poet Ole Sverre Morten, with Peter Kvint and Ole Sverre Olsen, have crafted songs for Brother which are his most fully realised, most personal, yet atmospheric and filmic , a beautifully sensuous album about love, humanity, the differences between us.

This is by far the best overall album I have ever heard. Every single track on the album is impressive. The more you listen the more you love it. Morten Harket is by far the greatest vocal talent of his time. These songs are so well written and performed...after all these years if it's possible Mr. Harket gets better and better. His vocals are amazing and quite frankly I love his solo work even more than A-Ha. I hope all his fans in the U.S. Get a chance to appreciate this extraordinary release. My personal favorites are End Of The Line - an upbeat track with great vocals, lyrics and music with an almost haunting and mythical quality. As for a ballad I adore Can't Answer This...just enchanting. If you love Morten Harket this is a true treasure. If you have never heard this magical voice...give yourself a gift and enjoy Music Heaven courtesy of a Morten Harket. You will not be disappointed. It will leave you wanting more! Wish there were more tracks to enjoy.

I am so glad Morten has released another fantastic album, at last! (i know it was only 2 years since out of my hands....)
This is a brilliant album, great lyrics and awesome vocals- as always!!! I still listen to all my A-HA albums (i have loved them since they first started out when i was a teenager- and swing of things was always one of my faves from Scoundrel Days...) Morten's voice gets better and better!!! I have to say, thus far, my faves on this album are, Do you remember me, and Safe with me... but that could change the more i listen! YOU HAVE TO GET THIS ALBUM, you will not be disappointed.

"A-ha are back!" Morten is very Harket and this is his style. No commercial compromise as with his previous album. Brother is unrivalled track, as well as Do You Remember Me, Heaven Cast or There Is A Place. I can only strongly recommend!

And i have not been disappointed, there isn't a dud track on it every one is a gem.
Whispering Heart can't stop listening to also Heavens Cast which is particularly poignant when you know the story behind it.
I would recommend giving this album a go.

he's still got it. Even though the last album was great it seemed a bit too commercial for a Morten Harket album. Brother is more of the Morten we know and love and is written nearly entirely by him in conjunction with Peter Kvint and Ole Sverre Olsen. It seems more stripped down and you can imagine Morten and his guitar by the fjord singing this. My favourite changes constantly but at the moment it is 'Can't Answer This' but with 'Whispering Heart' and 'Heaven Cast' closely behind. The only track that doesn't really grab me is 'First Man to the Grave'. I think sometimes its a shame that Morten doesn't have commercial sucess as in the heady days of a-ha when they were massive but then I think what does it matter as long as he is still able to produce his music and I would much prefer to see him at Shepherds Bush Empire in May then see a dot on the screen in a bigger venue.

I have always been a fan of Morten in both his solo work and with A Ha and was looking forward to this album after the superb Out of My Hands release.
This is a big disappointment in my opinion and a big step backwards for Morten. The songs are not as strong as most of his previous work in both their melody or lyrics . The album feels awkward and difficult to listen to,the songs seem to all merge into each other.
I think he needs to follow the direction of Out of My Hands and work with various song writers and producers as this album is boring and mundane.
Sorry Morten
