I bought the Brita Fjord water filter jug - after struggling with their routinely-faulty counter-top water chillers. Brita Aqua Fountain Water Filter Chiller - Stainless Steel The simplicity of the jug's design - it fits neatly into almost any fridge door and fills easily from the kitchen tap with a neat little finger-tip flip-up lid.
The benefits of the Maxtra-branded filter are already well-rehearsed elsewhere - though replacements are needlessly expensive. I'm not fully convinced of the pseudo health benefits claimed for Brita-filtered water, but generally the taste and appearance of filtered water is preferable to that which comes straight from the tap.
This bundled deal comes with a year's supply of water filters - for less than the cost of buying just the filters alone Brita Maxtra Filter Cartridges x 3- so it has to be a worthwhile investment.
All-in-all a great-looking, functional product. But does a plastic water jug really merit a 76-page "instruction" book? I shudder to think of the environmental waste necessitated by printing such a ridiculously superfluous document. It's a water jug. Fill it - use it. what more needs to be said?

Excellent product and good value for money. Brita Fjord is very easy to fill in compared to previous versions. Maxtra cartridges constitute considerable improvement over standard Brita cartridges with noticeable effect in the quality of the water and the speed of filtering.

Excellent filter jug!
