Good Tasting Food and Drink
At BRITA, they don't believe you should compromise on taste when it comes to making good food and drink that uses water as a key ingredient.
The BRITA water filters enhance the visual appearance of tea or coffee by reducing limescale, as well as the taste and smell of chlorine and other organic impurities. The result is good-tasting water that allows the flavour and aroma of your tea or coffee to really shine through.
Tip: Use the BRITA-filtered water to make ice cubes with mint/berries or stocks and soups

Small and very convenient size to keep it in the fridge.
Perfect for a single person or a couple, but my advice is to have an extra recipient or jug where to pour the filtered water and serve, then you won't have to wait while the jug is filtering. The process of filtering for the full jug (1.5 litters of filtered water) is very easy, you only need to fill the top half of the jug with tap water and wait while the water goes through the MAXTRA filter, but be aware that it takes about 3 minutes.
The MAXTRA filters, that contain a mixture of ion exchange resins and activated carbon (1), are easy to find and not really expensive when you get them in a pack.
There is a small digital screen on the lid that will help us to know when it's time to change the filter, although it should be taken as a guidance only. Brita recommends to change the filter once a month for better performance, but that depends on the use and the quality of the water in your area. The digital reminder only counts the time left for the month and at the end it's up to you to change the filter or not, of course.
Aesthetically, the jug is elegant enough and feels sturdy and well made, although I wouldn't recommend this jug size for a family of 3 or more members. Go for a XL size, like the Brita Marella XL instead.
The only negative point so far is that the lid is a bit loose so I need to use my hand to press and keep it attached to the jug when pouring water. I don't know if it's a general problem in this model or just mine.Read more ›
That said, the water does taste better from the jug than straight from the tap, and though the filters are relatively expensive the result is worth the outlay.
Contacted Brita UK, explaining the problem and within a few days a replacement part arrived and solved the issue. Super service!
Some people say that putting a jug of tap water in the fridge will have the same effect as a water filter as the chemicals dissipate as gas. I'm not sure how true this is; since the water filter works and works well, I'll use it and not ask any more questions.
