As far as water filter jugs go, this one is very good and has a large capacity. If you're surrounded by lazy people like me who can't be bothered to fill it up when it's getting near empty then you'll find that it saves you several trips to the tap. The only issue I've had with mine is that the very tight fiiting lid can be difficult to get off when wanting to fill it up and I end up pulling out the whole filter

I bought this being sick of carrying bottles of water home. It's been very useful and the water filtered through it doesn't really have any taste, which is a good thing. Going to buy a fridge size one next, cause this is just impractical for one person, although if you have company and you want to have a nice drink of fresh water, or just put better water in your heater or even for pots and soups, this is more useful than the smaller size.
Build quality is good for this price, i'm a 24 yr-old guy and am not very careful, so if it's in perfect knick after 2 months i would say it's good reliability.
My suggestion: for this price, get both small and XL sizes, the filters are the same.

My old electronic water filter (water on demand) broke recent and I replaced it with this Brita water filter.
The large capacity is great for a family and provides clear, pleasant tasting water and is a huge improvement on the old smaller version I had decades ago.
Easy to fill, quite quick to filter but heavy if you 'overfill' ie fill the filter part whilst water still in bottom of jug.

Bit bulky
Too wide to fit in the fridge door. Filter section is prone to get stuck to the lid when removing, when refilling with tap water. It does the job it is intended to do.
