It can store up to five trains or ten vehicles and includes a five-way wooden switching track. We bought the roundhouse for our son when he was two and a half. He was thrilled with it initially and we would always find lost trains stored away inside it. However he has never really gotten the hang of it and he finds the doors very hard to manouver with the trains. I think the roundhouse without the doors would be better. We are hoping that as he grows older and plays differently with his Brio set he will start to use the roundhouse in stories and "pretend" games. This has to be one of the most durable of toys. My husband of 100kg has stood on the roundhouse without any noticeable damage. My son sits on the roundhouse, jumps off the roundhouse and generally abuses the roundhouse without any discernable wear.

Being one of the most expensive accessories I have found it money well spent. My three and a half year old son would play with it all day if I let him!

my son (who is 5 years old) begged and begged for this brio accessory. i finally gave in to him and bought it this year from amazon. hes played with it on a few occasions only. the grand roundhouse does nothing hes says. my son and many of his friends have not enjoyed this brio accessory and now it takes up space in his wardrobe.
