Having looked at the various Brio sets available, we opted for this as it had such a variety of components: bridges, railway crossing, crane, forklift truck, a motorised engine and a push along engine that makes appropriate train noises; the number of track pieces allows for a variety of circuits (unlike the figure of 8 tracks) which gives more interest. The only criticism is the relatively poor way in which the track sits in bridge supports, which is fairly unstable and encessitates regualr rebuilds (particularly with enthusiastic toddlers around!) but this is a minor quibble in what is otherwise an excellent set.

This has mesmerised my 3.5 year old son
He woke the next day crying wanting to play with his 'present'
The functions are so simple to the adult, but to him, they are just another world and it has taken over his daily play
ALl of the other trains from the wooden thomas set are ignored and when he puts trains away at night into his five door engine shed, he puts the trains from this collection away
the forklift truck was lost on me as to how it worked, but he soon showed me
when the bridge falls over, its a bit of extra fun
my son has a lot of wooden brio track, but this is just fantastic - pricey, but I just feel he is so happy

The item is very nice, strong and durable. It came in a nice strong plastic box perfect for storing it. My 2-years old boy is playing with it right now. I think it became one of his favourite toys. I think it will last a lot and I'm thinking about buying another set to extend it. It's so much fun!

Very popular birthday present. Nothing broken or inhaled so far! Brio track very well made and finished and in my opinion worth the extra expense over similar track.
