Which title do I choose?

Help your child be the best reader they can! Because children learn to read at vastly different rates it is important that you match the needs of your child with the most appropriate title from the BRAINtastic Reading Success series. Simply choosing a title matched by age may not be the best for your child. Use the following guide to assist you.

Beginning Reader!

Start your child on their reading journey with titles ONE and TWO and let them progress through the carefully structured, step-by-step activities.

Emerging Reader!

Fill in any skill gaps and then develop and broaden their reading skills. Start at titles ONE or TWO and work through the titles to their level.

Struggling Reader!

Start at title ONE and work through the activities in order. Struggling readers often have specific learning gaps and it is vital that these are addressed before progressing to titles TWO, THREE and FOUR.

Power Reader!

Make the most of your child's reading talent by challenging and stimulating them with a diverse range of reading material. Choose a title above their age. For older children, titles FIVE and SIX will enrich their reading lives!

5.0 out of 5 stars Helps Boost Reading Power 1 Dec 2011
By Wendy Jones TOP 1000 REVIEWER VINE VOICE
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
My 10 year old niece used this and helped me to review it. Overall she really enjoyed this and the exercises and tasks were fun to do. It is important to point out, however, that she is an avid reader anyway and this may have something to do with her enjoyment and views. She did find some of the tasks quite hard but as this is aimed at 10-15 year olds she is at the lower end of the age spectrum. This means that she will be able to enjoy it for many years to come so quite a bargain really. Would definitely recommend

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for targeted learning. 28 Feb 2011
The ability to target subject areas and focus on your child's needs is a real bonus, and one of the best bits for a parent is that we are in control. We can set the amount and subject of questions that must be played before the reward game. We can review the results easily, and have real insight into the areas of reading that our children are enjoying or struggling with.

They were more than happy to keep answering the questions. They didn't hesitate, there was no need to be pushed or nagged. They knew the longer they took to do that, the further away the game was. Their sheer enthusiasm took over and hours of learning and fun passed without any of us knowing. All this fun comes with a downside, however, and that is stopping - nobody wanted to!

1.0 out of 5 stars Dull 16 Sep 2010
By artemisrhi VINE VOICE
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
Very disappointing. The main menu is uninspiring, the games are dull, the sound track is irksome in the extreme and my sons who usually love anything to do with the PC couldn't be enticed even to try it out and I don't blame them. It was very dull. One of the "fun bits" are two games where you can create a girl's face or a boy's face if you have ever created a Mii on a Wii then this will really disappoint. The education bit isn't very inspiring either.

Children are becoming increasingly discerning with what they will use on the PC etc but which means that software publishers like this really need to up their game. If young children have their expectations set by Nintendo and Lego software which albeit is primarily entertainment it has a significant educational element and they love using it and will use it lots then software like this is never going to compete. And as a parent I think my children would get more educational value, never mind entertainment, out of well chosen Lego or Wii games and the like than this.
