1.0 out of 5 stars Nice songs. Bad copy-protection. 19 Oct 2005
By J. HILL - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
I will never buy CD's with 'copy control' or 'content protected' labels again. This CD may not play in your player and may install malware on your PC if you try to play it or burn it. I had trouble ripping non-protected CD's after putting this in my PC. The disc is inappropriately packaged in a package that uses the 'COMPACT DISC' logo-- this disc does not adhere to that standard to my knowledge. The music is good but the copy protection makes this a one-star item. SHAME ON SONY.

Note: someone has suggested that the rating is supposed to reflect the music. I disagree. This is not a music review site, it is an online -store-. I purchased a CD and I am reviewing the product I purchased as an item. I wouldn't rate a vacuum cleaner that sucked well but was difficult to operate with five stars, and I wouldn't give a 'CD' that was impossible to use normally 5 stars because it had nice music on it either. I repeat: the music is terrific as are all Botti records but the companies selling these discs and making them need to hear that consumers don't like them. And I don't promote or agree with illegal file sharing. I do agree with malware consumer protection and I do support fair use rights for copyrighted materials.

1.0 out of 5 stars DO NOT BUY THIS CD 7 Nov 2005
By Jen - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
As of early november 2005 some users have started a boycott against Sony, with good reason. The cause of this is the copy protection found on this album. It installs a program (the copy protection) that is not just potentially harmful, but is more or less likely to be exploited by 3rd party software writes (hackers, advert companies etc) to gain access to rescources on your computer. While it does not do so today, THE SOFTWARE SUPPLIED ON THIS CD CAN BE USED TO MONITOR YOU COMPUTER. Any removal attempts so far has resulted in an potentially unstable system. Sony has so far tried to dismiss this as unimportant, mocking customers, and ignoring our rights.

It is recommended to not buy this product (it is actually not a CD, it does not conform to the specifications for a CD), at least not until the ongoing matter is resolved.

1.0 out of 5 stars Sony Installs Spyware 15 Nov 2005
By DarrenJones - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
Sony installs spyware that hijacks your computer. Boycott them.

According to the Washington Post: "Security experts warned that the anti-piracy software's ability to hide on a Windows-based computer could also be used by viruses to remain hidden on a PC, even from anti-virus programs. Last week, someone mass-spammed several versions of a virus that uses Sony's technology to remain cloaked on victims' machines. Since then, anti-virus companies -- and even Microsoft -- have said they will consider Sony's software as spyware and remove it as such."
