5.0 out of 5 stars These books get better and better 15 Sept. 2014
    By Deborah TOP 500 REVIEWER
    Format:Kindle Edition
Rook and Ronin had me captivated, Ford I just loved, all damaged and desperately in need of love but Spence and Ronnie, now this is the book I've waited for.
Spencer is the total package and it's hard not to really, really like him I mean this books from his point of view and he's funny and brilliant and while I really like him I also dislike him, at least early on before a lot of his behaviour is explained, but when after it's been explained and I'm loving him I remember the what he thought on the first page 'My best booty call is out on the town with another f***ing guy' and I'm back to thinking what the hell is wrong with this guy you don't refer to the love of your life as 'best' but then that's Spence, you've just got to love him.
This book takes us back to the beginning, the first time he saw her, the first time they met, we get it all and I loved every minute of it.
Loving it, love both Spence and Ronnie, these books just get better and better.

I've read the Rook and Ronin Series by J.A. Huss (including Slack and TAUT Ford's Spin off, who I absolutely love). I didn't expect to Love Spencer's character so much as I do. This is a short look into Spencer's life where we find out a bit more about him, it reveals how he met Veronica Vaughn and shows there is a lot more to Spencer than we'd seen in the earlier books. I can't wait to read GUNS next and will be sad when it's over, this has been one amazing series and I'd highly recommend.

    5.0 out of 5 stars Spencer 19 Feb. 2014
    Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This was just a short taster to get to know Spencer a little more. I am looking forward to Guns. The writing is once again good. I have loved this series, and quite honestly I do not want it to stop. I would definitely recommend, and while I'm not normally a fan of novellas I have not hesitated to buy this, as the previous books in this series have been so good.

    5.0 out of 5 stars I LOVE SPENCER 3 Oct. 2014
    By Linda R
    Format:Kindle Edition
I so enjoyed reading the taster of Spencer in the Rook and Ronin books so it is great to now have his story. This is the short version leading up to the full story about him which is called 'Guns' and that will be my next read. I was disappointed with Ford's story as there wasn't much to it and it didn't have the drama and angst that I love but this book definitely did. It's mostly about the relationship between Veronica (Ronnie) and Spencer with a few sinister things going on which makes it full of passion as well as angst. He is playing it cool with her at the moment as he is trying to protect her because of his shady lifestyle but she is not aware of this so the sparks are flying between them as she thinks he doesn't care about her when in fact he loves her to pieces. I hope the full story is just as good as this one.

JA Huss fans? This book does not disappoint. Makes you love Spencer and Ronnie even more. When I finished reading, I had a feeling of anxiety in my stomach, as I can't wait for the next book. I was so engrossed, I forgot this wasn't the finished article.

Spencer sure is a live wire, he's so wound up, what are his issues? Moving straight onto Guns now for answers, hoping to wrap up all loose ends for this series
    Great writing highly recommended
