Looks good but deceiving. The lid is fiddly to open and doesn't give easy access for filling. More importantly after a few months the lid catch went meaning that it lifted mid-boil causing it not to switch of, filling the room with steam.

I had to buy a new kettle a few months after purchase. The lid is held in place by two spindly plastic pivots that broke through normal use. I wouldn't buy this model again.

I just had the issue reported by the other two reviewers - stepped away from the kettle (mine is slightly different from the one on the picture, and has metallic body), and when I came back, found the kettle still on, with its lid open, spewing steam and hot water. What would happen when the water was gone? I was not entirely happy with the kettle to begin with - the kettle kept boiling away for too long, wasting electricity and creating a scalding hazard - but what a spectacular end. Shame on you, Bodum.
